Somebody Shoulda Told Us™ teaches the protections and wealth-building principles families need now, and for generations to come. Through plain-language financial literacy, the new book by Tinisha Springs, and a national network of professionals committed to building trust before they ever close a deal.

SSTU exists to put financial literacy in the hands of families who have been navigating some of the biggest decisions of their lives without a guide. We tell the truth first. Understanding follows. Plain-language teaching on the things every family deserves to know.
Read the book. Come to a workshop. Bring it to your church, business, or organization. Pass it to your cousin. The education is the work.

Long before there was a brand, a book, or a movement, there was a young girl driving to her grandparents' house on the weekends. They would be waiting for her with a shoebox of important papers. Insurance policies. Letters from the bank. Documents nobody had explained to them. They trusted her to help them understand what was inside.
That shoebox is where Somebody Shoulda Told Us™ began.
Tinisha learned then what most of us learn too late: that financial literacy is an act of love, and that when the people we love don't have it, the people who do have a responsibility to share it. She learned that important papers don't explain themselves. That systems don't always make the right choices clear. That somebody has to sit down at the table and tell the truth in plain language.
Years later, when she founded her company, she made a quiet prayer: If God would bless this work, she would spend her life sharing financial knowledge with His people, building the Kingdom, and being a blessing to families. That prayer is still the assignment. Every workshop, every kitchen-table conversation, every page of the book is a continuation of it.
Today, Tinisha Springs, M.Ed. is a Certified Financial Education Instructor and insurance and financial professional with eighteen years of experience. But what she really is, is a woman who keeps a promise. The education comes first. The work flows from there.

And without a real plan in place, wealth doesn't transfer. It dissolves into probate courts, legal fees, and Medicaid estate recovery claims.
transferring between generations by 2048. The largest intergenerational wealth transfer ever recorded.
In underserved communities, households hold a fraction of the wealth most others do, and without protection in place, that gap widens, not narrows.
of families in communities of middle wealth have no will, no estate plan, and no long-term care strategy. When that's the case, what was built doesn't transfer. It dissolves.

For our families. For the next generation.
Be first in line. Waitlist members get first read, first signed copies, and early access to workshops and the Community Partner Program.
No spam. No filler. Just the book, the launch, and the things worth knowing.
You've watched somebody work their whole life and then watch what they built start to disappear because the right protections were never in place.
You've watched a family lose a home or an inheritance because there was no estate plan, no will, no clear path forward.
You've sat at the bedside of an aging parent who needed long-term care, and there was no plan in place to pay for it.
You have life insurance, but you've never been sure if it's enough. Maybe it's a policy through work that ends when the job does. Maybe the amount made sense ten years ago, but doesn't anymore. Maybe nobody ever told you about coverage that protects you while you're still living, not just when you pass.
You have retirement savings, but you've watched them rise and fall with the market and never known there was another way. Nobody told you the money could be set up to pay you for life,
protected from market loss and from outliving it.
You're the sandwich-generation child caring for aging parents while trying to prepare for your own future, and there isn't enough information, time, or support to do it well.
You're the next generation that was supposed to inherit something. And you've started to wonder whether anything will be left to inherit by the time it's your turn.
You're a pastor, an employer, or a leader of a congregation, business, or organization. You can see your people making the same financial mistakes over and over, and you want to bring real teaching into their lives before they lose everything.
Recognize the lies you've been sold, the ones spoken outright, and the ones told by silence.
Open up your own paperwork and finally see what's there. Your policies, your accounts, your beneficiaries, your gaps.
Understand the sandwich generation bind, and why holding everyone else first means somebody has to hold you too.
See the long-term care trap before it traps your family. What it really costs, and what to do before the day comes.
Cover the casket with dignity, so nobody has to set up a fundraiser for the homegoing of someone you love.
Protect the living, not just the dying. Life insurance with living benefits, the way most families never knew it could work.
Build retirement income you cannot outlive, and finally see the math nobody showed you.
Hold onto Grandma's house, and the wealth that was never supposed to disappear.
Have the family conversation about money and death, without blowing up Thanksgiving.
Move from knowing to doing. The action is the point. The legacy is the outcome.
For 18 years I've been sitting at kitchen tables with families. After almost every conversation, after I'd shown them where the gaps were, where the money was leaking, where the protection was missing, somebody would look at me and say:
I heard it so many times it stopped sounding like a sentence and started sounding like an assignment. I believe part of the purpose God placed on my life is to take what I've learned at those tables and put it where more people can find it. To tell the truth with integrity. To open eyes to what families really have, and what they really need.
This book is 18 years of those conversations. It's the one I wish every family had on the kitchen table before the day they need it.

Life doesn't wait. A parent passes. A diagnosis comes. The retirement window opens, and closes, faster than anybody warned us. Protection, retirement, and legacy are conversations that can't wait, and they can't happen in isolation either.
Most of us were never taught how any of this fits together, or that it had to. That's the work SSTU exists to do.
Plain language. A bit of humor. A lot of myth-busting. The teaching most of us were never given.
For 18 years, hundreds of workshops with churches, businesses, sororities, and organizations. Participants walk in not knowing what they don't know. They walk out with their eyes opened, their questions answered, and a clear sense of what to do next.
Halfway through almost every workshop, somebody in the room says it out loud: "Somebody shoulda told us about this."
Open registration events held throughout the Southeast. Walk in, learn what your family needs to know, walk out with the next steps clear.
A church, business, sorority chapter, school, or civic group can bring SSTU directly into their space. See the Community Partner Program for how this works.
Drop your name, email, and city. We'll let you know when the next public workshop is scheduled in your area.
